About Mary Rath

Growing up, Mary always hated being in front of the camera - so she became good enough to stay behind it.

Mary is a graduate of Texas State University’s electronic media and mass communication program. She has a passion for art, language (both spoken and visual), travel, and oxford commas.

Mary is a freelance photographer with a specialty in live theatre promotion and shooting, having worked with multiple theatre troupes organizations in the hill country and Austin area, including The Baron's Men, the Wimberley Players, The EmilyAnn Theatre and Gardens, Texas Light Opera, and the Austin Film Festival's Young Filmmakers Program. Additionally, her travel photography won her accolades in undergrad, including runner-up for the Texas State 2016 Study Abroad photography contest, as well as being featured in the 2015 Texas State Personal literary magazine. Her background in formally studying both photojournalism and film has helped her to hone her distinctive cinematic style of shooting.

Mary now lives in Winooski, Vermont, working remotely as a WordPress designer and IT Specialist for the Vermont College of Fine Arts, using her spare time to write/illustrate/hike through the New England area.

It’s every bit as magical as you think it is.
